'Slumdog Millionaire' composer A.R. Rahman credits jingle writing with honing his art
That success belies Rahman’s relatively humble origins as a studio musician and jingle writer who once was too shy and insecure to venture into composing for fear of ridicule and failure.
He’s now in the midst an elaborate tour – featuring more than 30 musicians, singers and dancers arrayed across a vast stage with 3-D video – that will have him playing to his biggest audiences ever in North America, including a June 18 appearance at the Sears Centre in northwest suburban Hoffman Estates.
