Canuck TV audience for 53rd Grammys drawn by local acts Justin Bieber and Drake.
TORONTO -- Canadian band Arcade Fire winning album of the year pumped up the ratings for the 53rd Grammy Awards north of the border.
The Grammys simulcast, stuffed with performances by Canuck stars Justin Beiber, Drake and Arcade Fire, drew 3.3 million total viewers on Global Television, according to BBM Canada data.
That was well up from 2.8 millions viewers for last year’s Grammys, also on Global Television.
The Canadian broadcaster led off its Grammys coverage with Entertainment Tonight Canada’s one-hour pre-show, which led directly into the CBS awards broadcast feed.
