Consultations
Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment NHS Hounslow is carrying out a consultation on the draft version of its Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) in accordance with new Regulations which came into force in May 2010. The draft PNA contains information about local health needs and describes and maps the current pharmaceutical services available to the NHS Hounslow area. Pharmaceutical services include the supply of medicines and other services provided by eg Community Pharmacies (Chemists) and Hospital Pharmacy departments. It contains key findings from the patient survey which was undertaken in June 2010 and makes recommendations for the future. We will report on the consultation and revise the draft PNA in the light of the responses received. Liberating the NHS: Local democratic legitimacy in health Information on proposals for increasing local democratic legitimacy in health, through a clear and enhanced role for local government. Through elected members, local authorities will bring greater local democratic legitimacy to health. They will bring the perspective of local place - of neighbourhoods and communities - into commissioning plans. Local authorities can take a broader, more effective view of health improvement. They are uniquely placed to promote integration of local services across the boundaries between the NHS, social care and public health.

Pharmaceutical Needs AssessmentWe would like your views to develop a Pharmaceutical Needs assessment (PNA) which will inform the planning of services commissioned from community pharmacies and other pharmaceutical services providers. Pharmaceutical services include dispensing and other services provided by community pharmacies, high street chemists and hospital pharmacy departments. All Primary Care Trusts are required to publish a PNA in accordance with new national Pharmaceutical Services Regulations which came into force in May this year. The questionnaire was available to complete until 23 July 2010. |
