Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The Tech campus and the city of Atlanta are both quite diverse areas, but most students find that the two are diverse in very different ways. Atlanta has a very large African American population, although the school itself does not. Georgia Tech’s campus possesses a truly international diversity, with student groups for every ethnicity and country imaginable. More than one-sixth of the undergraduate student body is of Asian descent, and most of the international students are from East Asia and the Middle East. The Tech environment offers many community connections for international students and students of all other ethnic backgrounds.

Even though many different ethnicities and countries are represented on campus, oftentimes the groups of people don’t mix. It is not unusual for the people from a particular country to hang out only with each other, but the University does attempt to have everyone interact through different student organizations and campus events.

Georgia Tech has a very diverse student body! I'm white and I feel like the minority most of the time. There are many foreigners here, but everyone seems open to every type of person.
