Why does Jerry Lewis want to smack Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton?

Lindsay Lohan decorates the cover of the new Vanity Fair. AP Photo

I guess Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton aren’t welcome at the MDA Telethon this weekend.

Jerry Lewis has some harsh things to say about the young celebrities.

Of Lohan, Lewis tells “Inside Edition”: “I would smack her in the mouth if I saw her. … I would say, ‘You deserve this and nothing else — whack!’ And then if she’s not satisfied, I’d put her over my knee and spank her.”

And what of Hilton? “The same thing with Paris Hilton — those children are begging for help,” Lewis tells Jim Moret. “What they’re doing is saying … ‘Can you please help me?’ ”

The Lewis interview airs at 7:30 tonight on WKMG-Ch. 6. And Lohan seems to support Lewis’ take on her in a new Vanity Fair interview. “I’m literally falling apart!” the magazine cover quotes Lohan as saying.

At the Emmys Sunday night, George Clooney challenged the TV industry to be more charitable. Lewis echoes that sentiment, in his spank-happy way: “When people who have celebrity give nothing in return, they need a spanking and a reprimand.”

The Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon starts at 9 p.m. Sunday on WKCF-Ch. 18 and concludes at 6:30 p.m. Labor Day.

What would happen if Hilton and Lohan showed up? Would they consent to be slapped for charity?

Justin Bieber: Teen hacker wants apology from Justin Bieber — what do you think?

The teen hacker who obtained Justin Bieber’s phone number acknowledges to ”Inside Edition” that he did wrong.

But Kevin Kristopik, 15, also says Justin was wrong to Tweet Kevin’s phone number to 4.5 million Bieber fans. “He went too far,” Kevin says of Justin. “It is partly my fault. But because of his celebrity status, he should have handled it differently.”

The “Inside Edition” interview airs at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. today on WKMG-Ch. 6.

“I am sorry for meddling into your life,” Kevin tells Justin. “But I think you owe me an apology, too.”

Kevin says that he has learned “once you put something on the Internet, it is almost impossible to get it off.”

Kathy Kristopik, Kevin’s mom, tells “Inside Edition” that Justin’s revenge was too much. (She and her son are pictured.) “Kevin was just hoping that Justin Bieber would text him back,” she says.

What do you think about that?

Bristol Palin-Levi Johnston: ‘Romeo and Juliet in Wasilla’

Joy Behar’s take on the Bristol Palin-Levi Johnston engagement?  ”It’s like Romeo and Juliet in Wasilla.”

There may be some truth in that crack. The young lovers, who have a son, announced they are engaged in Us Weekly — and stunned their families.

Former Gov. Sarah Palin, Bristol’s mom, issued a statement with her husband, Todd, saying they wished the best for their children.

Johnston’s family has taken its reaction to “Inside Edition.” They aren’t happy, and you can see at 4:30 and 7:30 today on WKMG-Ch. 6.

Sister Mercede Johnston (left) complains: “You would think that a normal family would call you and say, ‘We’re getting married.’  We found out through the media, which is heartbreaking and rude.”

What about being invited to the wedding?

Mom Sherry Johnston (right) tells “Inside Edition”:  “I would be absolutely devastated if I wasn’t invited to the wedding – it would be the last straw.  They should elope if they can’t have the Johnstons and the Palins together.  But don’t leave us out of it.  That would kill me.”

Wow. How’s that for sending a message? Here, Levi: Have some guilt.

If that’s too much drama for you, here’s another joke from Joy Behar on today’s edition of “The View.” Joy says of the new iPhone 4G: “They say if you put a rubber thing around it, it will work. Well, it didn’t work for Levi Johnston.”

Deborah Norville to host Teacher of the Year gala

“Inside Edition” anchor Deborah Norville will host the 2011 Macy’s/Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year Awards Gala.

The winner will be announced at 6:30 p.m. July 8 at Hard Rock Live at Universal Orlando. This marks the 22nd year that Macy’s has sponsored and produced the awards.

The five teachers in contention are from Broward, Duval, Indian River, Miami-Dade and Nassau counties.

Nadia Bloom: James King tells ‘Inside Edition’ that bloggers’ criticism ‘doesn’t affect me at all’

James King became a hero to many when he rescued Nadia Bloom, the missing 11-year-old from Winter Springs.

But he came in for sniping from skeptical bloggers, too.

“It doesn’t affect me at all,” King told “Inside Edition.” “I’d be glad to take a lie-detector test.”

Joy Behar ridiculed King on “The View,” and a blogger said, “This guy and his ‘give glory to the Lord’ routine are sickening.”

King’s reaction? “I just take it in stride. It doesn’t affect who I am. They can believe what they want to believe,” he said.

And he has a response to people who think he’s too good to be true.

“There are some people that you … could do a miracle right in front of them, and it doesn’t matter,” King said. “You’re always going to have the naysayers.”

Sarah Palin blasts Fox Broadcasting for ‘Family Guy’ episode

Sarah Palin may work as a political commentator for Fox News Channel, but that hasn’t stopped her from blasting sister company Fox Broadcasting.

Inside Edition” reports that Palin, via her Facebook page, complained that the Fox series “Family Guy” delivered “another kick in the gut” with a joke aimed at her family.

In Sunday’s episode, “Family Guy” presents a girl with Down syndrome saying, “My dad is an accountant and my mom is the former governor of Alaska.”

Palin’s son Trig has Down syndrome.

Palin vented, on Facebook, “Fox Hollywood — what a disappointment.”

You can see the story when “Inside Edition” airs at 4:30 and 7:30 today on WKMG-Channel 6.

Tiger Woods’ madam: He didn’t love my girls

tigermadam.jpbA former Hollywood madam is talking about allegedly supplying Tiger Woods with women – and yet trying to send a message to the golfer’s wife, Elin Woods.

The star athlete didn’t have affairs with her escorts, Michelle Braun (pictured) tells “Inside Edition.”

“It was not a love affair,” Braun says. “He was not in love with another woman. It was just sex.”

“Inside Edition” airs at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. weekdays on WKMG-Channel 6.

Braun, who now lives in Boca Raton, also explains her old business.

Tiger Woods: His sex texts produce more bombshells

"Another day, another bombshell!" the New York Post headlines this morning.

The New York tabloids went gaga over Tiger Woods' text messages to women identified as his mistresses. The sex scandal takes the Post's front page plus four inside pages.

The Daily News gives the golfer prominent front-page display with the headline "Lust in the Woods." The Daily News kept the story to one page, but delivered this stinging headline: "Hey, Tiger you're one hell of putz." Yes, they wrote it that way.

The Post devotes a full page of "sexcerpts" from Woods to cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs.

Grubbs talks to "Inside Edition," which airs at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. today on WKMG-Channel 6. Grubbs says that Woods made her think he was seeing only her outside his marriage. "I had asked whether there were other women," Grubbs says. "And he would say … I don't have time for that. I'm too busy."

It's no surprise that a man would lie to his mistress, but Tiger evidently took the practice to new heights.

Farrah Fawcett’s college boyfriend: We were secret lovers

Farrah Fawcett's college boyfriend is telling "Inside Edition" they were secret lovers almost to the end of her life. And Greg Lott is furious that Fawcett's companion Ryan O'Neal wouldn't let him see the "Charlie's Angels" star at the end.

"This guy barred me from seeing the love of my life for the last three months of her life," Lott says.

He says they were lovers for the last 11 years of Fawcett's life. She died at age 62 in June after a long battle with cancer.

The interview airs at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. today on WKMG-Channel 6.

The early romance ended when Lott went to prison for selling drugs, but resumed in 1998. Lott says he visited Fawcett's Los Angeles penthouse often and exchanged love letters with her. "We had a commitment, a total commitment," he says.

Lott also says O'Neal barred him from attending Fawcett's funeral. "Inside Edition" didn't offer a comment from O'Neal. But Lott says the actor sent him a photograph that shows O'Neal with a punching bag and the words: "Nobody wins, peace."

What do you think of this news, Farrah fans?

‘Jon & Kate Plus 8′: Nanny says she had affair with Jon

Another day, another Jon and Kate Gosselin story.

This time, a former Gosselin nanny, Stephanie Santoro, tells "Inside Edition" that she had an affair with the papa on TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8." Television's most beleaguered reality dad denies the sexual relationship and everything else Santoro is saying. "Inside Edition" airs at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. today on WKMG-Channel 6.

"Jon is telling lie after lie after lie" about the affair, Santoro tells the program's Paul Boyd. "I have proof. Hundreds and hundreds of text messages."

Santoro says Jon told her they had to keep their relationship secret from the children, because the kids would tell Kate. Santoro also says Jon hacked into Kate's personal information to read her e-mails and text messages.

"He worked at security in IT. He knows how to do it," Santoro says. "He bragged about knowing how to do it."

O.J. Simpson: Ex-girlfriend says he admitted murders ‘in so many words’

O.J. Simpson's girlfriend of 13 years is opening up about their rocky relationship to "Inside Edition."

Christie Prody tells Jim Moret that Simpson hit her and threatened to shoot her and himself if she left him.

Prody says she believes that Simpson killed ex-wife Nicole Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

"Did he ever admit to you that he did it?" Moret asks.

"In so many words, he did," Prody says.

The two-part interview airs today and tomorrow. "Inside Edition" can be seen at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. on WKMG-Channel 6.

Prody says that the football star "despised" Fred Goldman, the father of Ron, and tried to hide money from him.

When Simpson went to prison on an armed-robbery conviction last year, Prody found her way out of the destructive relationship. After going to rehab, she is now sober. She is also the mother of a girl with her new fiance and says her life is wonderful.

‘American Idol’: Randy Jackson stunned by Paula Abdul’s exit — and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ invites her to join

Say it ain't so, Paula.

That was basically Randy Jackson's reaction when he learned that Paula Abdul wasn't returning to "American Idol."

"I can't believe it … it looks to be true," Jackson told Mario Lopez of "Extra."

The episode airs at 4 p.m. today on WKMG-Channel 6.

Former "Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe was similarly stunned. "Horrible news. She's a main ingredient," Lythgoe told "Extra."

But he's giving Abdul a place to land: "So You Think You Can Dance."

"She can come on any time she wants," Lythgoe said.

Via "Inside Edition," Lythgoe made a plea for Abdul to join the dance contest: "There's no excuses now, Paula. Come on 'So You Think You Can Dance.' "

What about this week's summer finale?

"Idol" host Ryan Seacrest told his radio listeners: "She's a dear friend. I love her to death. And [I'm] really sad."

What does Simon Cowell say? Maybe we'll learn something Thursday during the Fox portion of the summer tour of the Television Critics Association.

‘Inside Edition’: Deborah Norville to anchor from Orlando

Deborah Norville will be in Central Florida Thursday to host the ceremony celebrating Florida's teacher of the year.

The shindig's full name is the 2010 Macy's/Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year. The event will be 6:30 p.m at the Hard Rock Live at Universal Studios.

But Norville will not be missing her job as anchor of "Inside Edition." She will broadcast from CBS affiliate WKMG-Channel 6 in Orlando. "Inside Edition" airs at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. weekdays on the station.

Ryan O’Neal banned son Griffin from Farrah Fawcett’s funeral

Redmond O'Neal was released from jail to take part in mother Farrah Fawcett's funeral yesterday.

But Ryan O'Neal, Redmond's father, barred son Griffin from the funeral. Griffin and Tatum O'Neal are Ryan's children from a previous marriage. Oscar-winner Tatum attended the funeral as did "Charlie's Angels" star Kate Jackson and Cheryl Tiegs. Fawcett's pal Alana Stewart gave a eulogy.

Why did Ryan say Griffin couldn't be there? "Because he's a bad guy," Ryan tells "Inside Edition."

The report will air at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. today on WKMG-Channel 6.

Griffin O'Neal tells "Inside Edition" that Fawcett would probably be angry he wasn't allowed to attend.

"She's mad right now that I'm not in there," Griffin says. "I just wanted to say goodbye to someone that I knew and loved for 33 years."

Barack Obama’s marriage was deeply troubled; no wonder he wanted to take Michelle to Broadway

You don't think the Obamas need those dates, like the trip to Broadway last week? Think again.

The couple's marriage once was deeply troubled, author Richard Wolffe tells "Inside Edition." The interview airs at 4:30 and 7:30 today on WKMG-Channel 6.

"Until recently, there were more downs than ups" in the marriage, says Wolffe. He is the author of "Renegade: The Making of a President."

The marriage showed trouble in 2000 because of politics. "He has been open about this," Wolffe says. "That he says there was little romance [in the marriage]. There was lots of tension."

In 2000, when Obama ran for the U.S. House of Representatives, Barack thought was Michelle was "being cold," and she thought he was "being selfish," Wolffe says.

Susan Boyle ‘absolutely exhausted,’ Piers Morgan says

Susan Boyle update: She is in a British mental hospital for exhaustion, "Britain's Got Talent" judge Piers Morgan says.

"This is somebody who is absolutely exhausted," Morgan tells "Extra." "Emotionally, physically, mentally … Susan will be fine. She's just very tired."

Boyle placed second Saturday night to dance troupe Diversity.

Morgan had a simple explanation for the second-place finish: Susan Boyle overkill.

"I think it was a bit too much for some people in Britain," Morgan said. "They just got a bit bored, a bit irritated by the whole mania surrounding Susan."

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown called to ask about Boyle, Morgan tells "Inside Edition." "He was very concerned about Susan," Morgan said.

Amanda Holden, another "Britain's Got Talent" judge, tells "Inside Edition" that Boyle was under tremendous pressure before Saturday's finale.

"She didn't sleep. She wasn't eating," Holden says. "I saw her just before she went onstage. They were doing their rehearsals and I arrived. … She told me she felt tired and sick with nerves, and she was worried she was going to be sick."

But she wasn't. She delivered "I Dreamed a Dream" with her usual power.

"Extra" airs at 4 p.m. today on WKMG-Channel 6. "Inside Edition" follows at 4:30 and 7:30 on the same channel.

Kelly McGillis talks about hiding being gay: ‘I tried really hard not to be who I am’

Why did Kelly McGillis for years hide the fact that she's a lesbian?

"I tried really hard not to be who I am … really hard because I heard the message that it was wrong … I just decided to tell the truth, that's all," she tells "Inside Edition" today.

She was the leading lady of Tom Cruise in "Top Gun" and Harrison Ford in "Witness." Her other movies include "The Accused" and "Reuben, Reuben."

McGillis, who is 51, revealed her sexuality on a lesbian Web site last month. She tells Jim Moret that she knew for a long time she was gay but struggled with her secret for years.

McGillis, the mother of two teen girls, says: "I was always figuring out, 'What do I say?' 'It's none of your business?' At a certain age, I don't give a hoot about what people think about me."

"Inside Edition" airs at 4:30 and 7:30 today on WKMG-Channel 6.

WKMG announces major shift on news, makes staff reductions — station to shift Katie Couric, ‘Dr. Phil’

WKMG-Channel 6 will shake up the way it presents local news, starting Monday.

The CBS affiliate will drop its 4, 5 and 5:30 p.m. newscasts and shift to an hour of news at 6 p.m. weekdays. The change means that the "CBS Evening News With Katie Couric" will move a half-hour later, to 7 p.m., and "Dr. Phil" will be seen two hours earlier, at 5.

WKMG also made staff reductions today. Several sources put the number at 20, but General Manager Skip Valet said he couldn't confirm any number.

"Every department had some staff reductions," he said.

He called them "expected reductions." How so?

"People paying attention to what's happening in our business — it doesn't shock them," he said.

The station said a one-hour newscast at  6 p.m. had the potential to reach more viewers who are arriving home from work or delayed by traffic.

"We've done research. Viewers are not available at 4," Valet said. "Before 6, it's very tough to actually bring the news to people."

WKMG will market the new newscast as "The 6:00 News — Get the Whole Story."

"It's a hard-news newscast — news that's important to people," Valet said. "We're cutting out all the repetition, all the nonsense."

Valet said the new newscast would counter the thinning of news. "If you take any standard news block from 4 to 6, they're spreading the news thinly across those time periods," he said. "It's counterproductive."

Valet said there would be "no major anchor changes." What did he mean by major? "We're deploying some resources in ways we can't talk about," he said, citing competitive reasons.

But he said anchors won't change time periods, and he knocked down a rumor that morning anchor Lauren Rowe might return to evenings.

He acknowledged he was a Rowe fan, but added, "I'm an equally huge fan of Jacqueline London. I'm a big fan of the team I have here. Morning is very essential. It's important we do well there."

Valet also said there was nothing to the rumor that he would do the general manager's job and the news director's job — a job he used to hold at WKMG.

"The news director job is more than a full-time job," Valet said. "I have a dynamic, smart news director," he said of Steve Hyvonen.

Here's WKMG's new lineup, starting Monday:

3 p.m.: "The Doctors"
4: "Extra"
4:30: "Inside Edition"
5: "Dr. Phil"
6: "The 6:00 News"
7: "CBS Evening News With Katie Couric"
7:30: "Inside Edition"

Valet said the move of "Dr. Phil" to 5 p.m. had worked out for WPLG-Channel 10, WKMG's sister station in Miami.

Michelle Obama wears $550 sneakers to a food bank?

Everyone was busy giving out Barack Obama grades yesterday. Kind of silly, right? He made the point he has a lot in front of him — the economy, the auto industry, swine flu — that he hadn't expected.

I'd say an incomplete would be the way to go on a grade for the president so far

Michelle Obama, however, rates an A for being stylish, inspiring the young, dazzling the world and calling attention to nutrition and military families.

She hadn't put a foot wrong until … I read an "Inside Edition" blurb about her stylish footwear.

Mrs. Obama wears high-end footwear by Lanvin that retails for … get this … $550.

And she wore the sneakers to a food bank. Kind of ironic, isn't it?

Oh, well, she still deserves an A. The "Inside Edition" report, which I'm told is admiring, airs at 4:30 today on WKMG-Channel 6.

“Inside Edition” talks to Winter Springs woman accused of shooting her husband: “I would never hurt him”

Kimberly Boone is talking to "Inside Edition" today.

She is the Winter Springs woman accused of trying to shoot her husband, Robert. He had escaped death in a December fire.

"Inside Edition" had a jailhouse interview with the wife, who's being held in Seminole County Jail in Sanford. She is charged with attempted murder; officials say she admitted to the shooting.

The TV program tells her, "It seems like either your husband is the unluckiest guy ever or you're trying to kill him."

But Boone says, "I'm not trying to kill him. Like I said, I would never, ever hurt him. I would never hurt him."

"Inside Edition" airs at 4:30 p.m. on WKMG-Channel 6.
