POLL: How should the Navy punish the Enterprise commander who made raunchy videos?

Capt. Owen Honors, commanding officer of the Norfolk-based USS Enterprise, is under investigation after several videos that he made in 2006 and 2007 came to the public's attention. The videos, meant to amuse the ship's crew, include profanity, lewd jokes and slurs against homosexuals. What should the Navy do with Honors?

  • Kick him out. This is not the way a Navy officer should be acting, and he knows that. He has embarrassed the Navy.
  • Bust him down a rank. Don't throw a good military man out the door, but make it clear that he is being punished severely.
  • Reprimand him and move on. This is stupid, juvenile stuff. He looks foolish, but it's still relatively harmless. Don't disrupt the ship when it's about to deploy.
  • Slap his wrist. I mean, really, is anyone surprised that sailors cuss and make crude jokes? Tell him not to do it again and get back to business.
