Accessibility information
We are committed to a website that is
accessible to all our users.
We review the site regularly and amend
pages that may cause problems for people with disabilities.
We aim to meet or exceed the provisions
of the W3C/WAI Level 'AA'
checklist.
The following sections describe some of
the features that have been incorporated into this website to aid
accessibility.
Accessibility statement
We try to maintain WAI Level AA
accessibility
The Government requires that all public
sector websites - whether for central or local government - should
meet the W3C's guidelines on
accessibility to WAI
Level AA standard.
We strive to achieve and maintain levels of accessibility that
conform to the AA standard
and aim to meet as many of the WAI Level AAA guidelines as are
achievable.
Our website is currently undergoing accessibility testing by The
Shaw Trust Website Accessibility
Accreditation Service. Designed to be the most comprehensive
service available, their service is endorsed by The Guild of
Accessible Web Designers (GAWDS).
The testing combines a full technical audit with rigorous
disability user testing. Every member of the testing team is
an experienced assistive technology user and understands the
frustrations of not being able to access websites that don't
consider the needs of disabled users.
