In China, Shen Zhou (1427 -- 1509) was a famous painter in the Ming Dynasty. Nguyen Thanh Binh is a contemporary Vietnamese artist (1954- ) who was born in Hanoi and now lives in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
