Al Roker is adding to his morning duties.
The "Today" weatherman will headline "Wake Up With Al" on The Weather Channel. The program will air 6 to 7 a.m. weekdays, and Stephanie Abrams will serve as his co-host.
The new show won't affect Roker's duties on "Today," an NBC News spokeswoman said.
The Weather Channel offered this preview: " 'Wake Up With Al' will explore all aspects of the day's weather, combining Roker's warm style with the accuracy, dependability and expertise of The Weather Channel. He will appear both in the studio, interacting with guests and viewers, and in the field, reporting on the most compelling weather stories of the day."
"Wake Up With Al" will come from New York, where Roker is, and Atlanta, where Abrams will be stationed.
The program will premiere this summer.
