Fire on The Block 'set by human hands'

The fire that ravaged The Block last week was "set by human hands," the city fire marshal said Wednesday, but officials stopped short of calling it arson. A source familiar with the investigation said it is believed the Dec. 6 fire was set in a viewing booth at the Gayety Show World Book Store. "What's not determined is the intent of the person," Deputy Fire Chief Raymond C. O'Brocki III said.
