Submit a Story to Navy.mil
  • This submissions page is for Navy-related and approved material only.
  • Stories submitted are for consideration only, and will be vetted by the Defense Media Activity - Anacostia/Navy Office of Information.
  • Stories must have been approved through your appropriate chain of command/public affairs shop before being entered here.
  • Submit only one story per submission, formatted using standard Associated Press Style.
  • Don't forget your dateline, and include a space between each paragraph.
  • You will be required to enter approval information below before the submission can be processed.
  • Contact your local Navy public affairs office for further information on story approvals.

    Photo Submission

    You are encouraged to submit high-resolution (minimum 5" x 7" at 300 dpi) images with full caption and photo credit information (including full name, rank and duty station) to navyvisualnews@navy.mil. All photos sent to Navy Visual News Service should include a Visual Information Record Identification Number (VIRIN) in the caption, and should also use the VIRIN as the filename, i.e. VIRIN#.jpg.
