A piece of the puzzle Blue Arrow
On his normal workdays work, Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Sherman Whidbee patrols the streets of Joint Base Charleston-Weapons Station, watching out for the safety of military members and their families. He also is one of the few members onboard Naval Support Activity that has deployed overseas.

Weapons Station celebrates National Fire Prevention Month Blue Arrow
Joint Base Charleston - Weapons Station, hosted a fire prevention fun day fair in recognition of national fire prevention week, Tuesday, Oct. 5. Lowcountry Charleston firefighters were joined by several surrounding area fire departments in an effort to increase the awareness of fire safety.

NNPTC takes first Commander's Cup trophy Blue Arrow
It was the first of its kind and it was a resounding success. The first ever Joint Base Charleston Commander's Cup was held Sept. 27 through Oct. 1. and 16 military teams from around the Lowcountry took part in the festivities.

Captain Ward to Assume Command of NWS Charleston Blue Arrow
Captain Ralph C. Ward will assume command of Naval Weapons Station Charleston, Sept 9, 2010. His tenure will be short-lived though, as he will become the Deputy Commander, Joint Base Charleston (JB Charleston), Oct 1, 2010. In his capacity as Deputy Commander JB?Charleston, he will also serve as Commanding Officer of Naval Support Activity Charleston, which will stand up Oct 1.

Naval Consolidated Brig Adopts Canines for Veterans Program Blue Arrow
CHARLESTON, SC – Naval Consolidated Brig (NAVCONBRIG) Charleston aboard Naval Weapons Station Charleston announced a new program that will allow prisoners to train dogs for disabled veterans in conjunction with the Carolina Canines for Veterans (CCV) Program, Aug. 11.

Joint Base Charleston on track Blue Arrow
It has been five years in the making, but on October 1, 2010, Joint Base Charleston (JB CHS) will begin operations as a combined Air Force and Navy installation. To help envision what the future holds for these two historic military posts, it’s important to understand how the decision to combine bases came about.

FFSC services are open to active duty Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and other military personnel, retirees and family members.  We provide the right services at the right time, to strengthen personal and family competencies to meet the unique challenges of the military lifestyle. Classes and events are both scheduled during the day and in the evening.
