Scottish Academy of Fashion
The Scottish Funding Council has provided funding to set up and develop the Scottish Academy of Fashion, an ambitious project which aims to become a global centre of excellence linking industry with research and expertise in the university sector.
Led by Edinburgh College of Art and Heriot Watt University, together with four partner institutions - Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow School of Art, Robert Gordon University and the University of Dundee - the Scottish Academy of Fashion will be a hub for collaboration, networking and industry engagement for postgraduate fashion students.
The Scottish Textiles Industry Association has backed the initiative: "Our industry needs the input of new thinking. Bringing together our world-class creative industries with our globally recognised universities, Scotland should be well placed to drive innovation."
