Bubble Lounge

Introducing a new dessert menu & the creations - think olive oil madeleines & upside-down cheesecake - are pretty-guy friendly, as desserts go. If champagne's not your thing there's a full bar also.

Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse

This place is just the kind of digital-art-installation/view-across-the-bay/perfectly-mixed-cocktail spot that adds a little aura of “international jet-setter” to your layover.

Cafe des Amis

Sporting custom chandeliers, gas lamps & a zinc bar flown in from France, the interior is dressed to impress. Expect wine to flow freely in this ode to Paris & brasserie faves like steak and fries.

Una Pizza Napoletana

This new place from New York's Anthony Mangieri promises to be one of the best Naples-style pizza joints in the country when it opens next week.

the Warfield Theatre

Sunday: Slash Wails At The Warfield - Come see the uber-musician and living legend jam on it with Myles Kennedy ($32 to $40, 8 p.m).

RN74

like Michelin-starred Mina’s pork belly and clams, paired with an exquisite Burgundy. A. List tip? It can also be the herb-roasted marrow bones.

Clock Bar

Sporting 20-plus cocktails, with a definite bias towards gin-based classics, slide up to the swank bar for a deftly made aviation and watch the scene.

Westin St. Francis

You really should visit Michael Minas before it shutters. The food - the tuna tartare is great & the famous lobster pot pie rules - is what brought foodies here, but the service is king.

Rickhouse

A place with a modern take on classic libations, and a clientele that's a raucous mix of office workers letting loose and mixology aficionados. Try the Sazerac with locally distilled Old Potrero Rye.

the Republic

NFL Sunday starts at 10 am here, when 13 flat-screen TV's will bathe you in sweet gridiron glory. Great food, a good wine list & beer lovers will salute the 60 or so craft brews.

Zero Zero

The pizza here is Neapolitan -- the Italian invention where the toppings are just the accompaniment to the lovingly made dough that bubbles & crisps in a 900-degree wood-fired oven.

Lucky 13

this spot has the rockingest jukebox in the 'hood and a smoker's porch to hammer another nail in the coffin. We know we'll meet a Suicide Girl here someday.

Red Devil Lounge

Agent Orange on Friday - These guys have been thrashing since 1979 but the only thing old or stodgy about their shows are some of the fans who refuse to mosh anymore. 8 p.m., $20.

Tony's Coal Fired Pizza & Slice House

Every style of pizza is on the menu except Californian. Nothing against artichoke heart & walnut toppings, but if Tony stays true to form his old-school pizza will start racking up raves fast.

Bar Agricole

The culmination of the hyper-fresh, hyper-local cocktail movement. They grow some of their garnishes on site & contract with local farms & artisanal spirits makers. Expect awesome.

Elixir

Drink green: Elixir has a cornucopia of organic booze behind the bar.

Koko Cocktails

It knows what a Presbyterian is & makes a damn fine one. Come on the 1st Friday of the month for a bacon & bourbon happy hour - you get a slice of bacon with the special bourbon of the evening.

Brenda's French Soul Food

Serves up beignets stuffed with crawfish, apple or chocolate, & goodies like shrimp over cheddar grits. The po' boys here are as yummy as anything you could find in the Big Easy.

Alexander's Steakhouse

Get ready for steak-centric dining with a dash of Japanese flair. Good news when the head chef promises a bar program worthy of this cocktail-crazy city.

Cobb's Comedy Club

Tracy Morgan at Cobb's July 29 - Aug. 1st at 8 p.m. & 10:15 p.m., tix going for $40.50. Don't miss it, cause you will regret it.

Social Kitchen & Brewery

On Mon. & Tues. in its mezzanine, a server circulates to keep the get-together well irrigated. At night's end you get the bill, but each 8 oz. glass is only $3. Cologne beer on Mon. & Dusseldorf Tues.

Martin Mack's

An order of fish-and-chips is a smart start to a day of guzzling perfectly poured Guinness.

Hotel Biron

SOMA might be seeing more openings as of late, but we have to agree that Hayes Valley has a certain breezy charm. A. List tip? Start civilized with some cheese pairings at the Hôtel Biron.

Thieves' Tavern

Elijah Craig Single Barrel? Yes. Four Roses? You bet. For a divey place with cheap drinks and not much of a crowd, does it get much better? Nope.

The Residence

Modeled after where a hard-drinking, worldly writer would want to unwind after a day at the typewriter. Try the Manhattan and wobble away with a smile.

Da Pitt BBQ

Meat paradise on the down-low. The exterior & interior won’t impress, but once you sink your teeth into a big rack of fall-off-the-bone ribs you’ll be happy you went.

Wayfare Tavern

Start with the baked avocado with crab & bacon on top & end with 21-day dry-aged grass-fed sirloin, & sit at the chef's counter to see Florence run his new Financial District place like clockwork.

La Mar

Super VIP treatment for A-list readers includes 6 courses of delicious Peruvian cuisine paired with 6 Pisco-based cocktails. Event takes place October 12 at 6:30. To sign up, click on the link below.

House Of Air Trampoline Park

This trampoline park located in an old airplane hangar in the Presidio is awesome. There's also a special kids-only section to keep the wee ones out of your flight path.

Bai Thong

Opened just last weekend where Thepin Thai Cuisine used to be, the owners had a restaurant in the Northeastern corner of Thailand. The larb & the pumpkin curry are must-try dishes.
