The Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi (CVMA) website provides access to 17,000 images of stained glass in British buildings and collections. User consultation has identified the need for improved search tools, and particularly the facility for iconographic classification and searching. This project will deliver enhanced metadata, an improved public interface, and a facility to create and manage user-generated content.

Enhancing Stained Glass Studies

User consultation has identified the need for improved search tools, and particularly the facility for iconographic classification and searching.  This project will deliver enhanced metadata, an improved public interface, and a facility to create and manage user-generated content.

The project is carried out by a consortium of four partners, whose contributions are as follows:

        • University of York: metadata enhancement, digitisation, dissemination;
        • Centre of Computing in the Humanities (King’s College, London): technical design and build;
        • CVMA: metadata enhancement, dissemination;
        • English Heritage: project executive, dissemination.
