There was plenty of fancy footwork and cheering crowds at the Consol Energy Center Friday night -- and it had nothing to do with skating, pucks or hockey sticks. Thirteen dancers from the Fox reality series "So You Think You Can Dance" were in town for one night to showcase some top routines from recent seasons, as well as some new choreography. (Today)
Stage review: Faced with eight short plays, it's natural to pick favorites. But the pleasure of the seventh annual Theatre Festival in Black & White at Pittsburgh Playwrights is variety. I haven't been to a movie theater since 2003 and was very reluctant to go with my friend to the Byham to see the movie premiere of "The Chief," an adaptation of the one-man play about Art Rooney. The national tour of "Wicked" returns to Pittsburgh after sellout runs in 2005 and '08, landing in the Benedum Center Sept. 7-Oct. 2 of next year as a special show on the PNC Broadway Across America -- Pittsburgh series. A twist this time is the special arrangement between The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and Pittsburgh CLO that offers CLO subscribers priority seating to "Wicked." (10/20/2010)
