Officials in Venezuela say at least four people have been killed in a plane crash in the eastern part of the country.
Local officials say there are at least 21 survivors in the crash of the ATR-42 owned by state-run airline Conviasa. The plane was carrying about 50 people and was traveling between the island of Margarita and the industrial city of Puerto Ordaz when it went down, crashing on the property of the state-run Sidor steel mill near Ciudad Guayana.
The local governor, Francisco Rangel Gomez, says the pilot had sent out a distress call, but the cause of the crash is not clear.
