LOUDON, N.H. - Jeff Smith's first competitive lap around New Hampshire Motor Speedway will come with a clean view in front of him.
The Waterford Speedbowl Late Model division regular from Old Lyme will start second in the 60-lap American-Canadian Tour Invitational Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
The 20-year old Smith pulled the outside pole in a draw for starting positions. Glen Luce of Turner, Me. will start on the pole.
Fellow Waterford Speedbowl Late Model division regular Richard Staskowski of Hope Valley, R.I. will start 17th.
Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Mass., who won last year's inaugural ACT Invitational, will start 23rd.
