The Partnership for Educational Progress (PEP) has awarded several grants to employees of Glenbard High School District 87. The 2010-11 PEP grant recipients are: Kathryn Cerebona and Carlos Fuentes from Glenbard West, Susan Midelton, Amy Tufano-Moran and Nancy Pierce from Glenbard North, Diane Mankowski, Kelly McGorray and Maryanne Lenning from Glenbard South, and Jeannine Glock from Glenbard East.
The Partnership for Educational Progress works with Glenbard District 87 and five of its feeder elementary districts to provide enrichment opportunities for students.
Once again, students at all four Glenbard high schools will have the opportunity to read a specially selected book for the “One Book, One Glenbard” program, which was awarded a PEP grant. Cerabona, Glock, Mankowski and Midelton created this program, which involves providing multiple copies of one book that will circulate freely throughout the district. The schools organize a culminating activity for readers.
Fuentes earned two grants: one for his AP Spanish Videos – Destinos project and one for his Native Speakers Mini Library project.
McGorray and Mankowski earned a PEP grant for a Creative Writing Workshop/Author Visit.
Tufano-Moran and Pierce were awarded a PEP grant for their Abraham Lincoln Award Book Club.
Lenning and Mankowski earned a grant for their Books are Bewitching and Brake for Books programs.
The annual PEP grant program is supported by tax-deductible gifts contributed by individuals and businesses and through other fund raising activities. More information about …More
