New to the market

NEW TO the market in Dun Laoghaire, is number 2 Connaught Terrace, a large Victorian terraced house overlooking the harbour and close to the Dart station.

Savills is asking €1.75 million for the 318sq m (3422sq ft) house which has been totally refurbished in the last year.

It’s a five-bedroom house that could also be used as a home and office at basement level. Alternatively this area of the house could make a self-contained one-bedroom flat with some further conversion work.

Upstairs, at hall level the house has a contemporary feel with a large, all-white kitchen to the front, a separate study, and to the rear of the house a family room that opens out to staircase leading down to the garden. The drawingroom is on the first floor, with two tall sash windows overlooking the harbour, and a fine marble chimneypiece. There is also a bedroom at this level, and three further bedrooms located between the return and the second floor. The main bedroom is at this level and it comes with a large ensuite shower room.

There are three further shower or bath rooms throughout the house, with fittings from Elegant John.

The house still has most of its original windows, refurbished using the Ventrolla system, and its Victorian floorboards have also been preserved.

There is a small area of lawn in front of the house, and a landscaped garden with a sunny orientation to the rear. Parking is on street.
