I think in many ways Jerry Lee Lewis was better than Elvis Presley.
All Elvis fans don't be to quick to respond. Here me out.
Jerry Lee's live shows were just as dynamic as Elvis's were and if you think about it the body of Elvis work was singing those ridiculous movie tunes.
As a musician I believe he was and would have been much more respected.
Outside of that leather clad suit he wore during that acoustic set that we've all seen, Elvis was a crooner for the ladies giving away those scarfs for a kiss.
(All you guys that love Elvis better than Jerry Lee should have went to the stage and gotten a big ole kiss and a scarf)
Elvis sang songs for women. He didn't rock for us guys.
Back to Jerry Lee. He was a man's man who made a guy feel good to listen to his music.
It was rebellion the kind that got the respect of other musicians.
Here is a short list of the musicians who will appear on Jerry Lee's new album "Mean Old Man."
Keith Richards plays guitar on"Sweet Virginia."
Mick Jagger sings on "Dead Flowers."
Ronnie Wood plays guitar on the title track "Mean Old Man," (a song Kris Kristofferson wrote specifically for this album.)
Eric Clapton and James Burton back up Jerry Lee on "You Can Have Her."
Ringo Starr and John Mayer team up on "Roll Over Beethoven.
Other musicians on the album include Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Slash and Kid Rock.
Elvis never would have had a line-up like this to back him.
At 74, Jerry Lee is still at it and he's a "Mean Old Man."

As for Elvis, I really do like him, I just don't want a scarf and please no kisses.
