1: Use of the website.
1.1 : By using this site you implicitly agree to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions please do not use the website.
1.2 : The Pernicious Anaemia Society reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time.
1.3 : The Pernicious Anaemia Society provides no guarantee that information contained in this website is accurate.
1.4 : Professional medical advice should always be sought before starting or changing any course of medication, therapy or treatment.
1.5 : The Pernicious Anaemia Society reservers the right to alter, amend, withdraw or extend any information published on this website.

2: Membership.
2.1 By becoming a member of the society you agree, in addition to the above, to the following additional terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these conditions please do not register.
2.2 : The Pernicious Anaemia Society reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time.
2.3 : You must be over 16 to become a member of the society. If you are under 16 a parent, guardian or responsible adult will need to join on your behalf.

3: Forums
3.1 By becoming a member of the society and posting on the forum you agree, in addition to the above, to the following additional terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these conditions please do not post on the forum.
3.2 : The Pernicious Anaemia Society reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time.
3.3 : You must be over 16 to post on the forum. If you are under 16 a parent, guardian or responsible adult will need to join on your behalf.
3.4 : Opinions expressed in the forums are users' own, not those of Pernicious Anaemia Society, and should not be considered to be a substitute for medical advice. You should consult a qualified medical practitioner if you have any concerns over managing your own health.
3.5 : By registering with and posting on our forums you agree to:
3.5.1 : Keep your messages civil, tasteful and relevant
3.5.2 : Maintain respect for other people
3.5.3 : Post your message under the relevant thread or sub-forum
3.5.4 : Use only one account to access these message boards - users creating multiple accounts will be suspended
3.6 : and not to:
3.6.1 : Use obscenity or insults - including in usernames and signatures.
3.6.2 : 'Flame' or attack people individually
3.6.3 : Name specific medical practitioners in your posts
3.6.4 : Publish email addresses or phone numbers in posts
3.6.5 : Allow other people to post to the forum using your account
3.6.6 : Post messages advertising commercial products or services: these will be deleted
3.6.7 : Use the private messaging service to abusive messages to other forum users
3.6.8 : Place links to other websites in your signature unless you ensure that the linked to website also links back to pernicious-anaemia-society.org
3.7 : Unlawful, harassing, defamatory, explicit, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable and will be
removed. To ensure the safety and well-being of forum users, Pernicious Anaemia Society forum administrator has access to private messages at all times.
3.8 : Pernicious Anaemia Society's forums are for debate and discussion. Especially, they are not a suitable place to obtain medical advice.
3.9 : For the benefit of all users we operate a warning system for behaviour that does not adhere to the above rules. Warnings will be issued by a moderator, via the messaging system. If you receive two warnings your access to the message boards will be suspended. You will need to contact Pernicious Anaemia Society to ask them to consider reinstating your account in this instance.
3.10 : To post in the forums you must supply an email address. Pernicious Anaemia Society will not pass this on to any third party. You can choose to give your email address to another user if you wish,
although there is a messaging system which means you can contact another user without having to give them your email address.
3.11 :  You may not post an article that states it is copyrighted and not to be copied without permission, unless you have permission of the author. Articles that are not copyrighted may be copied, provided you list the references or post a link to the information. You may quote part of an article but not the whole article using the quote option, provided you list the references or post a link to the information. If you do not provide a link or list a reference, then your post will be deleted. You may not violate, plagiarise, or infringe on the rights of third parties including copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, personal, publicity, or proprietary rights. If such an event occurs, the individual posting the information shall be held solely responsible. Pernicious Anaemia Society shall not be held responsible for member-posted information that may violate copyright law.
3.12 : Pernicious Anaemia Society reserves the right to edit or remove a post which does not meet with the criteria outlined above and to ban any member of the forum.
3.13 : Users also agree to abide by the forum terms of use as published in the topic "Read this first - forum terms of use"

4: These Terms shall be construed and interpreted in accordance with English law. By using the Pernicious Anaemia Society sites, you hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in respect of all matters or disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms of this website.

The Pernicious Anaemia Society does not currently recieve any government funding. If you have found our website or the society helpful please consider making a donation, no matter how large or small, everything helps.
