Fulham is in the Europa League final. Let me write that again, Fulham is in the Europa League final!!! It took a gritty second half comeback for the Whites to claim victory and head back to Hamburg for the final on May 12th, but our beloved Cottagers have made it through to the final in what is has to be the most historic run in Fulham's long history.

Back in December when Fulham faced a must win in Switzerland against FC Basel to keep their Europa League hopes alive, I never once thought this club would be in a realistic position come April to play in the final of this very competition. But after Thursday's 1-0 win over Wolfsburg (3-1 on aggregate), the Cottagers are into the semifinals where another German opponent, Hamburg, is the lone club remaining between the Cottagers and a date in the Europa League final.

After Fulham's historic come from behind win over Juventus 11 days ago that put the Cottagers into the final eight of the Europa League, things have not gone well for the Cottagers. Roy Hodgson's crew sandwiched Premier League losses to Manchester City and Hull City around a disappointing FA Cup quarterfinal loss to Tottenham at White Hart Lane during the midweek. Despite the recent setbacks, all eyes are on Thursday when Fulham takes on Wolfsburg in the Europa League quarterfinals at Craven Cottage.

Do you believe in miracles? After Thursday, I think I do. Down 3-1 heading to Craven Cottage for the second leg, Fulham needed a miracle to defeat mighty Juventus in the Final 16 of the Europa League. The Cottagers delivered a miracle performance in defeating Juve 4-1 to win the two-legged tie 5-4 on aggregate.

It was a rough week for Fulham Football Club. After knocking out defending Europa League champions Shakhtar Donetsk in the previous round, the Cottagers were rewarded with a trip to Turin to take on perennial powerhouse Juventus in the final 16 of the competition. On top of that, the Whites had to travel to Manchester to take on defending league champions Manchester United. As most of you all know, the week did not go as planned. Juventus pasted the Cottagers 3-1 and Manchester United walked all over the Whites en route to a 3-0 win on Sunday.

Fulham has knocked out the defending UEFA Cup champions on Thursday with a nailbiting 1-1 draw in Donetsk. It was not pretty and there were some nervy moments throughout the match, but Roy Hodgson's side continue to defy the odds in what was a tie most experts thought would be won by Shakhtar.

Bobby Zamora did it again! His free kick late into second half stoppage time past the outstretched arms of Birmingham City keeper Joe Hart and into the back of the net gave victory and three points to Fulham in a tough mid table battle against the Blues. The win puts the Cottagers in 9th position in the table and keeps the positive momentum going into Thursday's all important second and final leg in Ukraine against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europa League.

Just three weeks ago I was concerned about Fulham's lacklustre form in the league. The Cottagers had injuries mounting and were winless in January and only defeated some lower league minnow in the FA Cup.

However, things have turned around in a hurry as Roy Hodgson's side have returned to form in time to stay in the top ten of the Premier League, advance to the final eight of the FA Cup and on Thursday, the Whites defeated defending UEFA Cup champions Shakhtar Donetsk in the first leg of their Europa League tie at Craven Cottage.

Roy Hodgson has stressed that the league remains Fulham's chief priority this season, despite seeing his team advance to the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.

The Cottagers defeated Notts County 4-0, with Simon Davies, Bobby Zamora, Damien Duff and Stefano Okaka netting to set up a quarter-final tie against Bolton or Tottenham.

Fulham Football Club looked to be in crisis mode at the end of January. Not only did the Cottagers lose four straight league matches, but they were also dealing with an assortment of injuries that would test the team's depth during one of the busiest and most important times of the year. Little was expected of Roy Hodgson's club entering February and perhaps that is how he likes it as Fulham has responded well with two wins and a draw in their last three matches. The most recent, a 3-0 drubbing of Burnley at Craven Cottage put the Cottagers back into 9th place on 34 points.
