In 1953, U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower appeared before the United Nations General Assembly to present a challenging and visionary plan called 'Atoms for Peace'.

Today nuclear power is an ever-improving technology that draws upon around 14,000 reactor-years of operational experience in a mature and expanding global industry. Reliable, safe and proven, this invaluable resource is available for far wider use to meet a human and environmental crisis without precedent.
Whether humanity will overcome this crisis is a question of political leadership - which depends ultimately on public understanding and public resolve.
