2. Andrew Turnbull, Scotland v USA

The hosts' little speedster also scored four at Murrayfield, two of which came in the 33-12 pool match victory over USA. Turnbull showed great feet to side step through the American defence and take his tally for the season to 24, having already scored another cracker against Fiji.

3. Mark Robertson, Scotland v Fiji

In that very match, Robertson received the ball on the half way line out wide before showing express pace to beat the challenge of Semi Keli and Apisai Naiyabo to cross under the posts in the 31-14 victory over Fiji.

4. Albert Valentin, France v Samoa

He of the back flip celebrations, Valentin scored against the World Series champions Samoa in France's entertaining 38-26 defeat to the eventual Edinburgh Sevens Cup winners. Similar to Royle's try, Valentin showed his speed and vision to get on the end of a superb chip over the Samoan defence. Having appeared in the Seven of the Best Tries from London for his celebration, this was all about the try.

5. Lee Rees, Wales v Scotland

Rees collected the ball inside his own 22 before kicking it over the Scottish defence, out sprinting them, collecting a kind bounce and scoring under the posts in the 33-21 defeat to hosts Scotland. Pure individual Sevens brilliance.

6. Sherwin Stowers, New Zealand v Argentina

Stowers scored his 27th try of the season in the Cup quarter finals at Murrayfield. Gordon Tietjens' flyer showing why he has scored so many this season and why the kiwis missed him while he was out injured. Here he beat four players before scoring under the posts in the 26-0 victory.

7. Ed Stubbs, Australia v New Zealand

This try was all about Brackin Karauria-Henry. Karauria-Henry, who himself scored four in Edinburgh, showed he can also set them up. Henry Vanderglas astutely collected possession from New Zealand before the ball was spread wide to Karauria-Henry. Just as it looked as though three New Zealand players would put the Australian into touch, at the last minute he managed to offload for Stubbs to score in their 24-19 Cup semi final victory - their first over New Zealand for eight years!
