Continue Your Commitment

There's just one spot available each year for a Young Trustee.

Every year, the Board of Trustees elects one graduating senior from the Homewood Campus to serve a four-year term as a Young Trustee. The Board always has four Young Trustees among its membership.

The Young Trustee position came into being in 1971, when former President Milton S. Eisenhower placed several conditions on his agreement to return as the University’s Interim President. One of these was that the Board of Trustees elect recent graduates to the board.

This website was created to provide all the information you need on the role of a Young Trustee and the procedure you must follow in order to become one. For answers to your questions—and for the materials you need to apply—just follow the links on this page.

If you find that you need additional information, please contact a member of the Board of Trustees Office at (410) 516-8132.
