The appointment of Lieutenant Colonel Sierichs to command The USAF Band opens a new chapter for an organization rich in history and heritage. He becomes only the twelfth commander in the history of the Band, with a career that has spanned the enlisted and officer ranks. The men and women of The United States Air Force Band proudly welcome Lieutenant Colonel Alan Sierichs. We look forward to serving with him, and using our musical talents to represent the U. S. The USAF Orchestra and Singing Sergeants perform “America’s Veterans: A Musical Tribute.” The concert taping took place at the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, Md. The event, which took place on June 17, will be broadcast on public television on Veterans Day weekend. Please check our website in the upcoming months for the latest broadcast information. Colonel Layendecker leads the orchestra in “God Bless America” which was the finale to “America’s Veterans: A Musical Tribute.” The performance featured guest artists (pictured left to right) Louis Gossett, Jr., Ronan Tynan, Michael Feinstein, and Shemekia Copeland.
