Rockford Rage Beats Ft. Wayne S.W.A.T. Team 117 to 49

The Rage defense was on when the league hit the road to Ft. Wayne for a bout at the Allen Memorial War Coliseum on Saturday, April 17. The Rage skated first in a FWDG double header, the last of the FWDG season. From the first whistle the Rage worked like a well oiled machine, communicating well, stopping their jammers from scoring and keeping their penalties to a minimum (previously an issue for the Rage). It was an exciting night for the league, which needed a boost after 2 travel team losses in the past few months. The Rage now hosts a 1-2 record for the travel season. Thanks FWDG for a great time!

Read 'Em & Weep

We flew ahead in the first half with great communication and teamwork and few penalties and touted a large lead going into the half. After a half time full of "Let's Make a Derby Deal" and some mingling with the awesome crowd, the second half began. The second half turned out to be the downfall for us. The Paper Valley Flyin' Squirrels figured out our strategy and determined how to make us rack obtain more penalites. Most of the second half the penalty box was full for the It was a hard fought battle. Final score: Rage 137 v. PVRG Flyin' Squirrels 141. Thanks to a great crowd a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Rockford Public Library and several boxes of books will go to the Friends Rockford Public Library Friends Bookstore.

A Derby Little Secret (shhh...)

The Rage came out strong in the first 10 minutes of the bout against the Bleeding Heartland Flatliners, but fell in the end 53 to 163. It was an awesome evening..great crowd...hard hitting derby...and even a derby wedding (congrats Barbie Got Back & Charlie!!). Thanks to the Flatliners for showin' off some great teamwork and strategy, to the Winnebago Dance Team for a great half time performance and to RAMP for allowing us to honor your organization!
