About Adam Lambert

The spotlight may have first shined brightly on Adam Lambert during the eighth season of American Idol but the singer had been preparing for the moment since he was a child. From the age of 10 he's been performing in various theater productions including: You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Fiddler On the Roof, Hair  and a major role in Ten Commandments: The Musical. It was his well developed sense of showmanship that helped propel him into the finale during the eighth season of American Idol. While he didn't win, it mattered little, and it was Lambert whole ultimately received the most attention, including making it onto the cover of Rolling Stone. With the release of his debut album For Your Entertainment, which sold close to a whopping 200,000 copies during its first week, Adam Lambert has truly elevated himself to pop star status.

In this performance Adam Lambert successfully takes on the challenge of adapting his songs to fit the intimate environment of the Unplugged stage. Not an easy task seeing as most of the original arrangements were created entirely in the computer using many layers of both real and synthetic sounds. Lambert used the opportunity to play with more naturally flowing tempos and to refine the songs down to their melodic essence. The set list consists almost entirely of songs off For Your Entertainment, including his hit single 'Whataya Want From Me,' with the exception being his American Idol classic cover of Tears For Fears' 'Mad World.' Without an ounce of drama or passion lost from this stripped down set this is an Unplugged not to be missed.
