  1. Who do Brown, Mandelson and Darling think they are kidding?

  2. OK Ray thanks I’d forgotten about that.

  3. The Governor – in what sense? It doesn’t sound like a question related to polls to me.

  4. I am just watching them on BBC News 24 now.

They are trying to rebut the National Insurance allegations.

  5. When Gordon Brown talks about “Taking 6 billion pounds out of the economy” What does he really mean?

  6. Brown understands public finance, but doesn’t have a clue about business finance. If Labour had their way then there would be 25million civil servants in the UK and then he could control everything.

If 200,000 people lost their jobs in the private sector then this would have a huge negative impact on public services. Brown’s comments represent a huge lurch to the left for Labour…….’we can manage money better than the individual’. The problem for Mr Brown is that recent events shows that he can’t!

  7. Are us Labour supporters allowed to join in or is this a private forum for people to praise Tory policies & ridicule Labour ones?

  8. There is a petition on the Number 10 Petitions web site, asking that it should be made law that never again should one person be permitted to be Chancellor for more than five years.

  9. How can you accurately predict elections by asking just one thousand people in a country with 650 constituencies, and each constituency is individual and different.

  10. You can’t, at least not with any certainty. Nor can you accurately state who has and hasn’t got a chance of winning an election in a given seat based on what happened five year ago.

All you can do, ultimately, is use past form, the snapshots provided by opinion polls and where you’re aware of them, key local factors to work out what might happen in a given scenario.

But the bottom line is that you’re still trying to make a guess (albeit an educated one) at something that you can’t know because it hasn’t happened yet. And that’s the fun part…

  11. @the governor
and what should be the sence of this petition??

  12. Hi Barnaby

Anyone can join the debate….I’m all ears!!!
