Last week, "Iron Man" lovers got their first official glimpse of Robert Downey Jr. filming as Tony Stark in the superhero sequel "Iron Man 2." While the image was nothing short of exciting for fans of the franchise, there was a certain something missing -- namely, his character wearing the famous red-and-gold armor.
Today, People offered the remedy for those of us itching to see Stark in his invincible suit: a photo of the sunglasses-wearing Downey Jr. partially clad in the Iron Man armor. (Check out the full image after the jump.)
We already knew that Downey Jr. was one cool cat, but sunbathing in full superhero attire? That's an all-new level of awesome.
While it's unclear exactly how this laid-back scene factors into the film, there's some speculation that it has something to do with a set photo that Jon Favreau posted on Twitter yesterday. The image depicts an establishment called "Randy's Donuts," a building that has a giant donut built on the roof. In the photo, two men are seen standing in the hole, though it's impossible to tell their identities. When compared to today's new photograph, however, it's pretty clear that Tony is the man in the donut hole.
Hey, even superheroes need a snack now and again!
It's unclear whether Samuel L. Jackson or Scarlett Johansson were on set with Downey Jr., but considering that they both filmed scenes yesterday, it's possible that the two super-spies joined Tony Stark for a bear claw or two. Now that's a scene we'd love to see!
