A crash involving an Oklahoma County sheriff's deputy this morning prompted authorities to close part of the Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City for more than an hour and a half, officials said.

The roadway was closed at the Lake Hefner Parkway about 6 a.m. and re-opened about 7:40 a.m., the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The deputy was exiting the freeway and an eastbound car on the Northwest Expressway clipped his patrol car, sheriff's spokesman Mark Myers said. No serious injuries were reported.

Myers said the sheriff's office routinely asks the patrol to investigate wrecks involving its vehicles.
