"Life could be a dream.... If you would tell me I'm the only one that you love," sang the Chords in this doo-wop hit. Some music historians consider this to be the first rock & roll record. Said Keyes, the group's first tenor, "[Our voices] were like horns blowing rhythmic things." The "boom" in the title chorus was inspired by the then-raging fear of the H-bomb.
