Big dreams are bearing fruit as Enid market begins second year
Is it really possible to dream of starting a local farmers market while icy wind still whips across the Oklahoma prairie? The answer is an enthusiastic yes. It was only a year ago that a small group of Garfield County residents gathered for lunch and a brainstorming session to organize a local farmers market. Their vision has become a growing community of sponsors, vendors, volunteers, producers and happy consumers.

When chef Joseph Royer was young, he dreamed of being an architect. Then he wanted to be an artist. At age 20, he settled on becoming a chef. Today, he’s combined all those interests to build a bridge to divert traffic from drive-through windows to food made from fresh ingredients and using artful traditions passed down over centuries.
Boost nutrition by stocking kitchen with healthful food
The focus of National Nutrition Month is on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. The theme for this year is "Nutrition From the Ground Up.”
