Technical Sgt. Brandon Chaney is a trombonist with the Ceremonial Brass, The United States Air Force Band, Washington, D.C. In addition to his performance duties, Sergeant Chaney is a member of the social media team, specializing in Facebook. A native of Henderson, Ky., his Air Force career began in 1998 as a trombonist with the Band of the West, Lackland AFB, Texas. Sergeant Chaney became a member of The United States Air Force Band in 2001.
Before joining the Air Force, Sergeant Chaney participated as a staff member and featured soloist with Star of Indiana "Brass Theater," now known as "Blast!" He graduated from Indiana University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Music degree. His teachers include Scott Hartman, Dee Stewart, Keith Brown, Ed Anderson and Ray Conklin.
In addition to his military performances, Sergeant Chaney serves as principal trombonist with the Prince William Symphony. He has also performed with the Fairfax Symphony, Annapolis Symphony and Annapolis Pro Contare.
