When we first met one-woman show Just Kait, we were blown away by her musicianship and raucous pop-rock jams, and charmed by the matter of fact way it was presented in videos like "Sick" and "U Suck."

So her new video for her cover of Donna Summer's disco classic, "Hot Stuff," comes as something of surprise. Cutting between footage from the MTV film Turn The Beat Around, which airs February 26, the clip begins with some dancers getting all limbered up (a la Paula Abdul's "Cold Hearted Snake" vid). Things proceed; the Turn The Beat Around dancers dance, fall for one another, and party it up, encouraging me to want to watch the movie.

While all this is going down, we also get some flashy footage of Just Kait rocking out in front of some name-in-lights action. Just Kait's verison of the song is far more rock than the original, as would be expected; the whole thing has a very Pat Benatar vibe to it. Watch the video, and watch the Turn The Beat Around trailer too.

Mark your calendars, and get READY, because the 2010 MTV VMAs are SET for Sunday, September 12, live from Los Angeles. That's right. Everyone knows New York was so 2009. Which is why we're packing up our laptops, live camera thingies that help broadcast stuff live, our Moonmen, and our favorite celebrities, ditching Times Square (old news!), and going someplace sunny for the 27th VMAs in Los Angeles.

Obviously anything could happen -- Someone could end up covered in blood! or even GET INTERRUPTED! Hugely famous people could meet, fall in love and GET MARRIED (right Katy and Russell?), all of *NSYNC could rise from the dust and perform "Bye Bye Bye" (#veryunlikely)... YOU NEVER KNOW! And seeing how I snuck backstage at Radio City Music Hall into a tiny, scary prop closet to take the above photo of a Moonman at 2009 VMAs, I'll be bringing you tons of Buzzworthy insider access to the 2010 VMAs. So stay tuned...

+ Brush up on your VMA history!

The fashion world is reeling today over the tragic death of British designer Alexander McQueen, fashion's l'enfant terrible, who came up under the tutelage of his friend and idol, Isabella Blow, and was responsible for some of the most avant-garde fashions sent down the runway and red carpets on the Kate Moss (whose hologram eerily hovered over his the runway of his Fall/Winter 2006 show), Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwyneth Paltrow, and, most recently Lady Gaga.

We thought we'd pay tribute to Alexander McQueen's untimely demise by showcasing our favorite McQueen looks on one of his biggest fans -- Lady Gaga, whose "Bad Romance" single debuted during the end of Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2010 show in Paris. Obviously the love and adoration was mutual between these two icons.

Lady Gaga At The 2009 VMAs: Lady Gaga wore Alexander McQueen's red lace dress when she accepted her 2009 Best New Artist VMA for "Poker Face." Gaga's red dress was from Alexander McQueen Fall 1998 collection.

Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" Gold Dress: Alexander McQueen's sky-high, jewel-encrusted armadillo heels attracted most of the awe and attention in "Bad Romance," but the gold origami-fold dress Lady Gaga wears in the beginning of "Bad Romance" is from Alexander McQueen's Spring 2010 collection.

Lady Gaga's Black "Bad Romance" Dress: The little black dress Lady Gaga wears in the beginning of her "Bad Romance" video is also Alexander McQueen.

Lady Gaga's Jeweled "Bad Romance" Dress: The reptilian sequined dress with a bubble skirt is from McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection.

"Dance In The Dark" Cover: The cover of Lady Gaga's "Dance In The Dark" single features Gaga in a gold paillette-covered shrug from Alexander McQueen's Fall 2007 collection.

Benefits and charity events often bring out the prim and proper in most attendees' fashion sensibility. While these events are often an opportunity to wear stylish evening wear, you rarely see people making a fashion statement.

Well, if we have learned anything over the last year or so, most people are not Lady Gaga.

Perhaps as a form of commentary on that very prim and proper attitude, Lady Gaga put on her best pearls to attend a charity event for AmFar in New York City last night. She just happened to have those pearls glued to her face.

Gaga's style for the evening could best be described as Couture Zombie Chic. Reminiscent of the outfit she rocked while rocking her GRAMMY opening performance with Elton John (you can see that here, in our Gaga at the GRAMMYs recap), Gaga, wore all white everything, from her jacket, her undergarments-on-the-outside and her vertigo-inducing heels; just a flash of her MAC Viva Glam pink lipstick offset the albino effect.

The zombie part comes from the dusting of chalky dirt that seemed to cover her body. Who knows, perhaps soon we'll see girls switching from glitter to dirt for their nightclubbing look.

Gaga actually performed at the AmFar gala, playing a reportedly superb take on her new song, "Future Love."

You can see more shots of Gaga in all her pearl-faced glory over at the Daily Mail.

+ The fashion world has been rocked by the loss of one of its brightest, most gifted and adventurous designers, as news spread that Alexander McQueen has died at the age of 40. According to The New York Times, the cause of death was apparently suicide, though the McQueen family has yet to make an official statement on the matter. McQueen's designs were a staple of many forward-thinking pop stars' wardrobes. And, perhaps more than anyone, he had helped sculpt the fashion icon that is Lady Gaga, plying her with much of the clothing (and shoes!) worn in her iconic "Bad Romance" video. (New York Times)

+ Obviously with such a loss, the tributes have been pouring in. You can read Twitter testimonials from the likes of Kim Kardashian, Rachel Zoe, Stephanie Pratt and many more. (People)

+ John Mayer's mouth has gotten him into trouble again, though it has made for some really entertaining online reading. Yesterday, a racially-charged, sexually-explicit, jaw-dropping interview between the singer/guitarist and Playboy was released online. Among other headline-making quotes, Mayer called Jessica Simpson, "sexual napalm," and made some really unwise observations about his relationship to the African-American community.  The day ended with Mayer Tweeting himself out of a corner and making a tearful onstage apology. (Idolator)

+ MTV News has some incredible behind the scenes footage of the recording of the new version of "We Are The World." The remake, produced by Quincy Jones, Lionel Richie and Lady Gaga producer RedOne will benefit relief efforts in Haiti. You can watch Justin Bieber, Pink and many more take their turn at the microphone. (MTV News)

+ Here is a picture of Joe Jonas walking down the street, bringing back the Hooters/Springsteen 80's bandanna/headband, one step at a time. (Seriously? OMG! WTF?)

A couple of weeks ago we hipped you to the "tropical soul" stylings of Debi Nova, a Costa Rican-born Los Angeles-based session-singer-turned-solo-artist.

After working with the likes of Ricky Martin, Black Eyed Peas and others, Nova has set out on her own. And her debut full length, Luna Nueva, due in March, is full of rhythmically complex pop-R&B. This sound is wonderfully captured on the album's lead single, "Drummer Boy."

Directed by Thomas Kloss (Pussycat Dolls, New Kids On The Block), the "Drummer Boy" video is a seductive introduction to Nova. With an acoustic guitar melody over a skittering beat (not unlike something Timbaland would cook up for Nelly Furtado), Nova does some dancing in the desert. There is a blessed lack of narrative to the vid; at some point some equally accomplished dancer friends show up to join in on the fun, but that's about it. It's more or less a platform for Debi Nova to show off her pipes and her moves.

Luna Nueva is due out in March. You can hear more music at Debi Nova's MySpace page. Check out the premiere of the "Drummer Boy" video below.

If you've already seen this hilarious Jonas Brothers interview, then late pass. Still though, it deserves a replay.

The always-hilarious Wonderwall sent an eight-year-old girl named Lucy out to interview the Jonas Brothers. Now, MANY eight-year-olds would be too busy shrieking, fainting, or yelling "Kevin touched me" to stay cool in front of Nick, Joe, and Kevin. But instead, this precocious little girl basically throws those Jonas Brothers fans under the bus AND challenges Nick to a dance-off. Which he accepts. And then gets served. I love how she basically plays hardball with the JBs. She's like a little mini Chris Matthews... minus the horrifying verbal diarrhea!

Every time you turn around it seems like David Archuleta is doing something good for the world. Just last week, the American Idol sweetheart was in Miami performing "No Air" with Jordin Sparks at her annual charity concert.

Now comes news, via Just Jared Jr. that one of Archuleta's Arch Angels created a calendar that will help fight multiple sclerosis.

The calendar was created by photographer Jennifer Barry, who was inspired by Archie's performance of the song "Prayer of the Children" backstage at the Hope For Haiti Now benefit concert. The calendar is called "Be The Change," it's filled with great photos of Archuleta, and it's available at Qoop.com, with all proceeds benefiting Crush MS.

Please support this cause by picking up a copy of David's calendar -- they're $21, and again, all proceeds benefit Crush MS -- and be sure to check out his performance of "Prayer For The Children," below.

French dance DJ David Guetta's One Love just keeps on giving. Not content with spawning the U.K.-chart-topping "When Love Takes Over," (featuring ex-Destiny's Child's Kelly Rowland), the dance-pop hybrid album has just dropped another crazy catchy single, this time in the form of "Memories," featuring everyone's favorite Gaga-sampling MC, Kid Cudi.

The video for "Memories," which has just started showing up online in various places, is a crafty piece of work. Cudi, rocking a nice vintage Guns 'N Roses shirt, going for a morning stroll, thinking about the night just past and all the naughty things that happened.

On his travels he repeatedly sees an elated Guetta, DJ'ing in front of random office parks and storefronts, still buzzing from the night before. Cudi also seems to be having another kind of vision; that of barely clad ladies dancing wildly in the reflection of said storefront windows. It's all a bit hazy, but a lot of fun; just like any great night out should be.

You can check out the NSFW (for language and nekkidness) video for "Memories," here at Pigeons And Planes. David Guetta's One Love is currently available and likely going untz-untz-untz-untz out of a stereo near you.

Taylor Swift's own line of Taylor Swift American Greeting cards, written and inspired by Taylor Swift herself, are finally in stores. Taylor's greeting cards have a healthy dose of everything from shrugging acceptance-turned-into-optimism to full-on hope, and I could totally see her sitting in her cute bedroom (like the one in "You Belong With Me") and writing happy messages to her BFF, Abigail. And no, there's no "sorry you got interrupted on MTV" card. Har.

Check out Taylor's new cards below. I mean, they're definitely cooler than those persnickety Maxine cards that are always about having saggy boobs. Get Taylor's cards where American Greetings cards are sold.
