LostOnly one topic in the Twitter Report feed was as popular as watching "Lost" last night — and that was not watching "Lost." I have reactions without any major potential spoilers retweeted after jump — though if Sawyer taking his shirt off or Jin's English proficiency count as spoilers, consider yourself warned! The feed also produced a swank piece of John Locke artwork by Mike Norton, so don't miss out on that.

In other tweets, Brian Michael Bendis spent the day at Marvel Studios, and he posted about some business he had with "Iron Man 2" and "The First Avenger: Captain America." Meanwhile, Stan Lee noted a Marvel cameo you might not be aware of, and Jill Thompson shared some original Phoenix artwork. Check out all of that and a dead-on piece of Super Bowl commentary from Jeff Katz.

We've discovered how much of Hal Jordan's upcoming, big-screen adventure will occur in space, asked Ryan Reynolds to recite the Green Lantern oath, brought you the exclusive news of Mark Strong playing Sinestro, and even showed off some concept art from the film over the last few months — so what's missing from our coverage of Martin Campbell's "Green Lantern" movie?

How about a giant, green fist?

Asked about the objects the Green Lantern(s) will create during the film, Campbell took time out of the "Edge of Darkness" junket to drop some information about the powers DC's ringbearer will wield. Read more...

Chase VariantA year ago, comics gossip columnist Rich Johnston gave us "Watchmensch," a parody of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' "Watchmen" that spoofed the industry's relationship with Hollywood and creators' rights. Now he's back with yet another tongue-in-cheek project that should hit close to home: a comic inspired by the collector market.

Published by Image Comics and titled "Chase Variant One Shot (Is All I Need)," the story follows a lethal, four-armed assassin named Chase Variant who was manufactured by a secret agency that only creates a small number of her particularly rare model. Her "limited-edition" status makes her the target of various governments who want a Chase Variant of their own.

Appropriately enough, "Deadpool" and "Youngblood" creator Rob Liefeld — who played a big role in the explosion of variant covers and other elements of the 1990s comic-collector market — has created a limited-edition cover for the issue, which hits shelves today. Read on for your first look at Liefeld's "Chase Variant" cover. Read more...

War Machine"Iron Man 2" star Don Cheadle has ruled out the idea of staring in a "War Machine" spin-off film featuring Jim Rhodes.

When asked about the possibility of War Machine going solo in the latest issue of Wizard Magazine (via the Coventry Telegraph), Cheadle replied, "People have asked, but no one [in authority] has mentioned it as something that's happening. Hopefully, if this one does well, there'll be another ['Iron Man' movie] with the same people. But there won't be a ['War Machine'] spin-off."

Arrowette - Young Justice LeagueCould a "Young Justice League" animated series be on the horizon? A report that hit the 'Net and was removed a short time later seems to indicate that's the case.

"I am beyond thrilled to announce that I was recently cast in the new animated series, 'Young Justice League', based on the famous (and awesome!?) DC Comics," wrote actress Stephanie Lemelin in a statement on her website that was snagged by Mania.com before being removed. "I seriously could not be more excited about being welcomed into this amazing family… what a fantastic way to start the new year! I will be voicing the character of Arrowette (see ridiculously hot avatar below!!! um, could I love her anymore?) as well as several supporting cast members."

Lady Gaga comic bookLast month, we gave you the first look at "Fame: Lady Gaga," the upcoming biography comic hitting shelves later this year from Bluewater Productions. Since the first cover created such a stir, we're back with an exclusive peek at two more covers planned for the issue.

Just in case you missed the news the first time around, the new line of "Fame" comics will present unauthorized biographies of celebrities from the music and movie world, kicking off with MTV's Woman of the Year, Lady Gaga. According to the publisher, the preview issue of "Fame: Lady Gaga" will be available in May for Free Comic Book Day, and future issues will focus on such notable pop-culture icons as 50 Cent, David Beckham and Taylor Swift.

Earlier this week, we gave you the first look at several covers from the "Fame" comic spotlighting "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson. Read more...

DESCWhen the final season of "Lost" premieres this evening, fans will hopefully get some answers to their most burning questions, but there's one mystery that you don't have to wait for new episodes to solve — the show's connection to comic books.

From comic book cameos and superhero references all the way to the writers room, there's no shortage of links between "Lost" and the paneled page. After the jump, we've listed five ways that the show's mythical island and the graphic novel world have united.

Coraline - Oscars 2010Let's get this out of the way right at the start, folks: 2009 was not a memorable year for comic book movies.

Where 2008 gave us two of the best comic book movies of all time in "The Dark Knight" and "Iron Man" (as well as the darn good "Wanted" and "Hellboy II"), the 2009 theater slate gave us one of the most polarizing comic book adaptations to ever hit theaters ("Watchmen") and an uber-hyped but critically panned blockbuster ("X-Men Origins: Wolverine"). A few more forgettable adaptations slipped in the back door, too — namely, films based on Top Shelf's science-fiction thriller "The Surrogates" and the Oni Press murder mystery "Whiteout."

So it's no surprise that comic book movies were noticeably absent from this year's list of Academy Award nominees. However, since public outrage over last year's "Dark Knight" snub paved the way for an expanded nomination pool this year, it's worth giving this year's list a look to see what should be celebrated, what's missing and what's worth pondering at the intersection of comic book movies and the 2010 Oscars. Spider-ManIt's been a little while since our last update on the "Spider-Man" movie front, and with a director now in place for Spidey's rebooted film franchise, it's about time we found out who readers want to see as the new Peter Parker.

A few weeks ago, we gave you our five picks for the Spider-Man role, and now it's your turn to decide which one of them (or of the other actors you suggested in the comment section or who didn't make the cut in our original list) is the fan-favorite actor to bring Peter Parker back to the big screen. Remember: the new franchise is aiming for an actor who can play the teenage version of the character, so keep that in mind when you cast your vote.

TwitterThe Academy Awards nominations for 2010 hit close to home for the comics world this morning -- and not just because sci-fi and animated films like "Avatar," "District 9" and "Up" made it into the Best Picture category. Neil Gaiman's "Coraline" adaptation earned a Best Animated Feature Film nod, and Kevin Smith's former sound collaborator ended up with a Best Sound Editing acknowledgment.

Even if they don't have a horse in the race for the Oscars, most creators still had opinions to share, though. You can find retweeted reactions to "District 9," "Up" and "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" actress Anna Kendrick's nomination for "Up in the Air" after the jump. And even if the Oscars don't interest you, you can check out what Dave Gibbons thought of "Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut" and discover which big-name writer took a taxi to McDonald's yesterday.
