Oops! Brittany Murphy Foundation Returns Donations

By PopEater Staff  Posted Feb 15th 2010 10:15AM
The Brittany Murphy Foundation, which is run by Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, and mother, Sharon Murphy, hasn't filed the necessary documents to qualify as a charity or nonprofit group and is now returning all donations. On Sunday, TMZ first reported that the foundation was not registered as a charity with the IRS or the state of California, as required by law. The foundation has issued an apology letter on its official Web site. "In an effort to get the foundation off the ground quickly, we established it as a private foundation with plans to apply for nonprofit status down the road. However, after some thought, we have decided instead to wait until we have our nonprofit status approved before proceeding to ensure that we can truly honor Brittany's charitable desires. Any donations made up until this point will be returned until we have all our paperwork solidified," the letter reads.

    Michael Jackson's Kids 'Slowly Coping'

By PopEater Staff  Posted Feb 15th 2010 08:22AM
Michael Jackson's three children, Prince Michael I, 12; Paris, 11; and Prince Michael II ("Blanket"), 7, have been trying to gain a sense of normalcy since their father's death in June. With the support of their grandmother and guardian Katherine Jackson, the children are "slowly coping."

One source tells PEOPLE that Prince and Paris have become more confident over the past several months. "It would have been hard to imagine them going out in public or showing up at someone's house hanging out and playing video games before [their father died]," says the source. "That had a lot to do with Michael, because every time he showed up there were bodyguards and [chaos]. And now, not so much. It feels much more normal and they've adjusted really well to that."

Happy Angry Valentine's Day From Jennifer Garner

By Bryan Alexander  Posted Feb 14th 2010 03:28PM
Jennifer Garner's ferocious attack on an anti-Valentine's Day pinata was more than the high point of "Valentine's Day." For many, it summed up their frustation with this Hallmark holiday.

The star was even asked to reprise the anger live on the 'George Lopez Show,' where she said Valentine's Day can be "an obnoxious holiday" before beating the stuffing out of another heart-shaped pinata.

However, Garner insists that past Valentine's Day aggression was not part of the scene's preparation. During the movie's press junket, Garner said she had professional baseball on her mind when she shot the baseball bat scene.

"I like a batting cage as much as the next girl," she said of her preparation.

The wife of Red Sox-crazy Ben Affleck listed some of the players she channeled during that moment.
