Even after the passing of Tony Blair as PM, the Government is still struggling with what to say about the Iraq War.
This from Foreign Office Minister Lord Malloch (aka B***ock) Brown in yesterday's Times:
"The invasion of Iraq and the occupation of the country by US led multinational forces had been “a terrible episode for everybody”, a Foreign Office minister admitted yesterday."
While a more bullish view is provided by Defence Secretary Des Browne in today's Independent:
"Was the invasion of Iraq a mistake?
No I don't think it was – although I recognise that this is a question that people have strong views about."
Not least his Foreign Office colleague.
Which will happen first? Will Lord MB get fired, or the Government sort out its message? My guess is that both events will happen simultaneously.
