There are millions of people in Haiti who need our help. To raise money for the victims of the recent earthquake, stars from around the globe are joining forces for the telethon "Hope for Haiti Now," hoping to bring aid to a nation in need. U2, Wyclef Jean, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Madonna, Shakira, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Coldplay are just a few of the world-renowned artists taking part in the broadcast, which begins on Friday at 8/7c. After the broadcast, which will be on several channels, you'll be able to watch segments of the show on MTV.com.
Of course, the biggest star of the night is you.
We need you to step into the spotlight and donate what you can online at www.HopeforHaitinow.org or by phone at 877-99-HAITI.
You can even text "GIVE" to 50555.
If you want to hold onto the performances, you'll be able to pre-order and purchase the songs you heard on the telethon at the iTunes® store. The "Hope for Haiti Now" album ($7.99) and two-hour video telecast ($1.99) are also available for pre-order. Apple, the record labels and artists are all donating their proceeds to "Hope for Haiti Now." .
