PAX East

The Penny Arcade Expo's first jump to the East Coast may achieve bigger numbers than its Seattle predecessor, which last year set its own record at purported badge count of 60,750. A little over a week ago, the PAX East site announced that there would likely be no badges left at the door when it opens on March 26th. That news has now been accompanied by word that fewer than a thousand 3-day passes may be left for sale.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Though "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker" should still make its May 25th release date in the U.S., the PSP game has been bumped from March 18th to April 29th in Japan. The announcement may ruffle feathers among Japanese gamers, but some of the most critical blogging targeted at the delay has come the game's director, Hideo Kojima.

God of War 3

David Jaffe, who is best known for his work on the "God of War" and "Twisted Metal" series, also has a deserved reputation for his frank and open attitude when speaking. If you've been following his blog recently, he's sounded off on both of those franchises, and while he's content to not have his name on the the "God of War 3" credits, the door may be open for a "Twisted Metal" return.

Battlefield Heroes

There are a number of games that would make sense for a "Twilight" tie-in, but I wouldn't put "Battlefield Heroes" at the top of that list. Apparently that hasn't stopped EA and DICE from adding vampire and werewolf content to their free-to-play online FPS. Players can purchase vampire and werewolf outfits in packs which will also include a unique ability for each. The game will also add new maps which can be played in the dark of night.

Here's the trailer with all the juicy, supernatural World War 2 action:

Pokemon

I know what you're thinking. "Pokémon HeartGold" and "Pokémon SoulSilver" haven't even gone on sale in the U.S. yet. Well, Japan has had them since September and it's time for Nintendo to start looking ahead to an all-new Pokémon title. "Diamond" and "Pearl" were the last entirely new releases for the DS, and though Nintendo hasn't said what their follow-up will be called, they've made its existence known, and it may be destined for Japanese stores sometime in 2010.

Episodes from Liberty City

Xbox 360 owners will no longer have exclusive access to "Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City" this spring. Both "The Ballad of Big Gay Tony" and "The Lost and the Damned" will be set loose on the PlayStation 3 and PC on March 30th via the PSN, Windows Live and a Blu-ray disc package. The announcement comes almost a year after "Lost and the Damned" first appeared for the 360, but Rockstar assured PS3 and PC owners that they appreciate the wait they've endured.

iPad

Nintendo's top man claims little interest at the moment in both the iPad and 3-D viewable gaming technology in the spirit of James Cameron's "Avatar." In addition to shooting down speculation that Nintendo is exploring a motion sensor for their next portable system and brushing off the importance of 3-D technology to the game industry, he also claimed to be remarkably indifferent to Steve Job's presentation on Wednesday where Apple revealed their new tablet machine.

Return to Ostagar

UPDATE: No need to wait until next week, as it looks like the DLC pack is live now! Woo.

Original Story: The "Dragon Age: Origins -- Awakening" expansion pack won't be showing up until March 16 at the earliest, but the good word for dedicated players today is that the game's released (and later unreleased) "Return to Ostagar" DLC may be returning for good as soon as next week.

Final Fantasy XIII

"Final Fantasy XIII" director Motomu Toriyama hinted at the possibility of DLC for his newly finished game last year, and his "perhaps" now looks like it has turned into a "will arrive" -- though that arrival will happen in Japan before North America.

Playstation UI Motion Controller

While Ubisoft readies "around ten" games for Microsoft's Project Natal, it looks like the same number of games in total will be ready for Sony's PS3 motion controller by the end of 2010. The new hardware, possibly known as the "Arc" or"Gem," is scheduled to be out this fall, in time to compete with Natal's holiday season arrival, and Sony clearly wants to have a few games ready to go.
