Ryota Niitsuma

Right now, you may not know who Juan the Swan, Yatterman-1, or Doronjo are, but the producer behind Capcom's latest Vs. game, "Tatsunko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars" is hoping to change that. I recently had a chance to speak with Ryota Niitsuma and asked him whether or not he thought that American gamers would have trouble connecting with the Tatsunoko characters, and he responded with a surprising comparison to another Capcom Vs. title, "Marvel vs. Capcom 2."

While I fully admit that I am not the target audience for a game like "Walk It Out," I can't possibly comprehend the tween that would be overjoyed to see this game in the hands of a loving parent or relative. It is a rare specimen of game that would (based on the box art, at least) appeal to exactly no one. That's not to mention the innumerable people in wheelchairs that would just be pissed off just to learn of its existence.

I give you..."Walk It Out," a new game from Konami:

Walk It Out

And yes, I am judging a game by its cover. But with a cover like that, it's pretty hard not to.

2010 FIFA World Cup

"2010 FIFA World Cup" comes as no surprise to anyone, but EA Sports has now made the game official and released a screenshot to accompany a few early details. Their marketing machine can now begin figuring out how to draft behind their "FIFA 10" sales numbers while everyone else waits for some action shots and further info.

Tasunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars

There are plenty of genres that are lacking on the Wii. From role playing games to first person shooters, the console simply doesn't offer as diverse of a lineup as its competitors. However, there is one genre that stands out above and beyond all the others, as being the most neglected: fighting games. Yes, there's the reining king, "Super Smash Bros. Brawl," but other than that, there were only a handful of titles, and most of them weren't that noteworthy (the overwhelming majority have "Naruto" in the title) until now. Capcom has just released their first entry in their hallowed Vs. series in years, and it's on Nintendo's little white wonder. "Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars" is looking to fill that gap with a quality title from a company that knows a thing or two about fighting.

Classic Controller Pro

"Monster Hunter Tri" may be ditching friend codes on the Wii, but it will be gaining new controller in North America. The game, which hits the U.S. in April, will come bundled with a black beauty previously only available in Japan called the Classic Controller Pro.

Tony Hawk Ride

So you purchased a skateboard controller for "Tony Hawk: Ride," realized it wasn't a very good game, and now you're sitting at home, wondering what to do with this worthless hunk of plastic. Well, good news! According to Twitter, Tony Hawk is collaborating with Robomodo, the developer of "Tony Hawk: Ride" on a new project! If they continue the trend from the first game, you'll now have two mediocre extreme sports games to enjoy with your hunk of plastic! Here's the post made by the Hawkman:

Tim Gunn

Tim Gunn of TV's "Project Runway" knows quite a bit about the world of fashion. Video games...not so much, as evidenced by his enthusiastic but ultimately less than exemplary performance on "Big Buck Safari" (pictured). But he does seem to have an opinion on Super Mario's classic overalls and work boots. We sat down with him to get his take on the gaming world's most famous look. By the way, this may be my favorite video ever:

God of War

Let me put this bluntly: Slamming X a bunch of times to do something mundane like open a door is not fun. It's never been fun. I'm not sure how or why developers came up with the notion that it'd be a good idea to make players sweat to accomplish seemingly simple tasks, but it's a horrible practice that should die as soon as possible.

That's not to say that there's no room for portraying "effort" in a game. There's a value in it, as it allows players to share a moment with their avatar, as both are physically exerting themselves at the same time. But there's a time and a place.

No More Heroes 2

I may have blogged too soon yesterday when I suggested that Platinum Games might talk to Ubisoft about partnering on a "MadWorld" sequel if Sega really wants out of the M-rated Wii game market. The French publisher's CEO Yves Guillemot cited "great Wii success during the holiday season" this week, but he cited the success in spite of unmet financial goals. Now it looks like Ubisoft will be joining Sega and maybe Capcom, depending on which day of the week it is, in de-prioritizing Wii releases.

Mega Man 10

"Mega Man 10" has a rich legacy of ridiculous and well designed bosses to satisfy, but thanks to an overseas reveal, Capcom's development team has my seal of approval. I don't want to spoil anything more for you if you're waiting to play the game, but all eight Robot Masters will be listed after you make the jump.
