Sundance: Impressions from the Punk House

The punk house is packed. And the first thing you notice when you step inside is the ridiculous amount of shoes in the front foyer, and the smell of all the dirty punk rock boys. Air mattresses are strewn about and everyone is looking for a missing phone charger. It’s messy, it’s chaotic, and madness. But. You know there is a poorly strung acoustic guitar that the bands had bought at a pawn shop along the way to Sundance. And on that guitar, you can always count on some musician in the house to start strumming. Music in the punk rock house is constant. And amazing.

Sundance: Waiting for the Kominas to Arrive

I was chit chatting with the 7-11 woman as I got my morning coffee. As long as I have coffee in my blood, I’m pretty much good to go all day. We both looked out the window and gazed at the skiers going down the slopes surrounding us. I’d never been in a ski town, so I was kind of in awe. She asked if I was here for Sundance, and I told her I was here with the Taqwacores. I handed her the postcard version of the poster which I had started to carry around with me. It’s the punk thing to do - carry movie postcards and concert flyers and hand it to everyone that you meet.

<pRecently MTV Iggy had unprecedented access to Bollywood's biggest star, Shah Rukh Khan, and his leading lady in 5 previous films, Kajol Devgan. The pair with sparkling onscreen chemistry have teamed up for a new film, My Name is Khan, releasing worldwide on Feb. 12. MTV Iggy taped a 2 hour production with the stars in the backseat of a NY taxicab chatting with their driver.

In this first clip (many many more to come!) SRK and Kajol talk about their upcoming film, when they feel like movie stars, and love/faith/Islam/9/11 as they relate to the themes of the film.
