This is the Time for Real Reform in Romania
Our main objective in establishing the Romania Think Tank (RTT) in 2002 was to create a dedicated organization committed to identifying issues combined with practical answers in regards to Romania's transition to a real functioning free market economy and true democracy. Since then, the RTT has been successful through its seminar activities such as the recent implementation of the flat tax, legislative reform, media reform, etc. and is currently working on other projects such as the introduction of the direct vote, anti-political party migration legislation, and health care reform >>read about our accomplishments here<<.

Since 2002, the RTT has been quoted and referenced in numerous Romanian publications and television, as well as international publications such as the "Financial Times", and news website CNN.com, to mention a few. In April 2004, the leading Romanian national daily newspaper published an article which also included the RTT and its founders in a piece entitled, "They Can Change Romania" >>read the article here>>. The on-going media coverage about the RTT is slowly but surely giving evidence that the RTT can make a real difference in Romania.

Looking forward, the road ahead remains difficult, especially taking into consideration that Romania's accession to full EU membership will not magically solve its current problems. However, the RTT will carry on its efforts through innovation and ideas in order to continue providing practical solutions regarding a wide array of issues. Although privately funded, the RTT continues to explore fund-raising activities (especially in light of the favorable U.S. tax-exempt status received in 2004).

We welcome all and any comments from the public about the RTT and its activities and we hope that you will find this website interesting and useful. In any event, we encourage you to GET INVOLVED, whether you set up your own NGO/think tank or donate some time and money to existing organizations. Let's not forget that the real reforms which need to be carried out over the next 4 to 5 years will be the most important to Romania's future.
