(AP) -- LONDON (SE) - Wayne Rooney went from villain to hero as Manchester United won 3-1 at Hull on Sunday to move within just two points of Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Rooney put United in front with his sixth goal in as many games on the stroke of half time but his poor back pass to goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak led to Craig Fagan's penalty equaliser.
The England striker ensured his mistake did not prove costly by going on to set up the champions' two other goals.
