Blumernatorial

I'm benched from political predictifying.

But I note that, all over the 'sphere, the Blumenthal-might-run meme is suddenly bubbling, thanks to his non-disavowals

There will be a lot of pressure from within the party for B. to run. Take a look at his numbers in the Q Poll. They are off the charts. Will he do it? Who knows.

Colin, my bet is that Blumenthal is about to force a Dodd retirement, and that he's merely waiting for the end of the legislative session, (and the passage of the health care bill).

Last week was a big wake-up call to Connecticut Democrats, and as much as people might like Dodd, it would be a big relief if Dick stepped up to the plate.

Frankly Chris Murphy would be better off (hello 2012!), an endangered Himes would be better off, Courtney too, as well as Bysie, Ned, and Malloy.

Realistically, what happens if, after paying his dues for twenty years, Dick declares? I guess Dodd could stubbornly take it to a primary, where he would lose badly, but I just don't see that happening. More likely Dick gives Chris a heads up before doing anything publicly, and Dodd retires gracefully.

Certainly Blumenthal now holds all the cards. I just think that if he wanted to be Governor, he would have run last cycle. That, and we all know Dick has always wanted to be a United States Senator.

That's what I believe is going to happen. It's just been too soon given Dodd's stature and the importance of this congressional session.

I dunno. Wake me after the snow has fallen and tell me how much is there to shovel and if the plows have cleared a path to the polls.

Did you see that Tyler Swift just won CMA awards? I still think she sounded like Phoebe from friends.

Blumie said in recent quote that opportunities would be opening up in 2012. We need him to take out "Traitor Joe".

This post of yours, Colin, is irksomely indecipherable. And yes, I am mad that you didn't post my recent post. That's why I'm objecting to this post of yours. And if you can decipher (I've gotta look up decipher) this post, then you're a gubernatorial glutton (which makes no sense, but who doesn't love GG words?!

I GOT it! The slogan for you & Bill Curry...THE PEP BOYS!! Well, one Pep and one less Pep! It all evens out when you realize that 10 billion years from now, no one is going to feel too peppy anyway, I don't think.

From a tactical standpoint, why wouldn't Blumy support dodd in 2010, and claim the open Democrat senate nomination in 2012? As Joe is an Independent, Blumy can have the Dem nomination for the asking without having to fight an incumbent which he has praised for decades. Further, 2010 does not look to be kind to Dems, while Blumy would have Obama at the head of the ticket in 2012. Joe waon last time only because he had vastly superior name recognition and ran against weak candidates.

Does Anderson Scooper secretly advise all the leading politicians? Or does he have an amazing Ouija board?
