Swine Flu Vaccine: Nasal Spray vs. Shot
The H1N1 vaccine is available in nasal spray and shot form. Both are considered effective, but there are some differences:

The nasal spray contains a live, weakened form of virus that does not cause flu. Only approved for people aged 2 to 49 who are healthy and not pregnant.

The shot contains a killed virus.

Children under 10 need two doses of the vaccine, taken 28 days apart. People 10 and older only need one vaccine.
