A Memory From A Teammate

| | Comments (2)
Junior safety Kijuan Dabney shared his first memory with Jasper Howard.

"Jazz was my first roommate when I got here. I came up here two weeks later than everybody in my freshman recruiting class [due to NCAA clearinghouse issues] and Jazz, basically, he stayed up in the middle of the night waiting for me to get in because I flew a late flight and got in at about 1 o'clock in the morning. I just remembered a little boy with long dreadlocks and red eyes answering the door, and I'm like, 'Man, who they got me rooming with?' That's when I knew he was different. But immediately, Jazz asked me, because I had no covers or nothing - he asked me, 'You need a pillow? A blanket? You good?' And of course with my pride, I'm like, 'I'm all right. I'm all right.' But I was freezing that night, but basically, I told him I was all right. Everybody was close to Jazz."

I just want to send my condolences out to Jasper's family, friends, and to the UCONN Football team and staff as well. I hope you guys get through this tragedy and are able to move forward from this. Take care and God Bless.

Don't worry here paul!, I know that these young men are warriors, and that they know what is ahead of them, not only this week, but for the rest of there lives. We tend to think that the emotion will be just to strong, and that they will just fall apart, as that could happen here, "But Won't" they have a tremendous task here ahead of them this wek with the game on saturday, and the funeral attendence on monday, but they will Rise above the ashes, and truely make us "ALL" true believers. of this teams "Greatness" that lies in waiting for them. "Rock On!" Dawgs!!!
