Good job I wrote “as things stand” when I posted in August. This looks like one of the seats that may have gone out of the Tories’ reach following the Autumn credit crisis. Unless of course there is some other big event before the next General Election that has a major effect on voters’ preferences.

I think we always need to put in an “as things stand”. Your comment from last November is now well and truly out of date – as things stand the Conservatives will rake this one in on the swing without much ado. Of course plenty could change between now and then.
