The National Weather Service is predicting rain mixing with snow in the Hartford area this afternoon, changing over to snow at 5 p.m.

Up to an inch of snow may fall in the area, according to the Weather Service.

The forecast calls for rain and snow Friday morning, changing to rain in the afternoon.

Fox 61 Meteorologist Joe Furey is forecasting up to an inch or two of snow in the Litchfield hills tonight. A wintery mix of sleet and freezing rain is possible in Hartford County overnight.

Temperatures are expected to remain seasonally cool through the weekend. Highs today in Connecticut will struggle to get out of the 30s, with rain starting before the evening commute.

Rain is in the Fox Forecast through Monday. "I don't think the weekend will be a complete washout," said Furey on the Fox 61 Morning Show.
